Music for Youth launches The Future Is Now programme
At Code Wizards we're very lucky with our clients and friends. Today was a great day as we were a small part of the launch of Music for Youth's The Future Is Now programme.
Music for Youth ("MFY") have spent 50 years (yes fifty!) helping young people to have enjoy, perform, compose and be part of music. This body of work has helped 10,000s of young people find a productive and mindful activity that compliments their learning and development.
Every year Music for Youth arranges an amazing array of live performances covering every genre and style from thrash metal to orchestra to rap to jazz to pop to.. well everything. This year their annual MFY Proms couldn't happen due to COVID-19 meaning a lot of young people were blocked from performing at the Royal Albert Hall.
So Music for Youth thought about what they could do and how they could change things around; how to retain the ethos and accessibility of their role while allowing everybody a chance to join in and see the results. The Future in Now is the result of that hard work and we've worked hand-in-hand to build the vision.
We've been honoured to help them realise a stylish site that allows young people to subm(it their performances and later will transmute into the performance viewing platform. The platform is built upon the amazing Umbraco CMS technology to all e'll add features to allow MFY and young people to have a digital platform that's flexible enough to grow with them and provide a digital experience to augment the amazing physical events we hope they can start running again soon.
'The COVID-19 crisis has impacted all of us in one way or another, never have the voices of the UK’s young people been so critical. Music for Youth are keen to bring together young musicians from across the UK, providing them with a platform to share their experiences of the pandemic, its aftermath and challenges associated with it. The Future Is Now (TFIN) is that platform. Every voice matters and needs to be heard.

I’ve been a programmer and IT enthusiast for 30 years (since the zx spectrum) and concentrated on AI (neural nets & genetic algorithms) at University. My principle skills are concentrated on Enterprise and Solution Architecture and managing effective developer teams.
