Code Wizards, the digital architecture and engineering specialists, were proud to welcome Her Majesty’s Government’s Minister of State for Employment Alok Sharma MP recently at their head office in Reading.

His visit had been arranged so that he could observe first hand how a high tech IT company researches, designs and develops technology for its clients.

Stuart Muckley, managing director at Code Wizards commented, “As part of the visit Mr. Sharma discussed the use of research and development in UK businesses and the importance of this continuing post-Brexit.

“He was keen to explore how we encourage the increased export of these skills and technologies to other territories, how games, esports and gaming fit into our collection of products and services and the challenges they are currently facing in the current climate.

Martin Thomas, CTO of Code Wizards said, “The visit showed a demonstration of our cutting edge augmented reality (AR) technology that works in both web browsers on phones and other devices.”

Alok Sharma MP said: “The visit to Code Wizards was amazing and incredibly informative.

“The Thames Valley has also been a hub for IT companies and Code Wizards are at the cutting edge of their industry.

“I really wish them all the best for the future as they grow and achieve further success and it is so satisfying to have brilliant companies like Code Wizards creating employment in my constituency.”

Code Wizards are keen to invite Mr. Sharma back later in the year and confirmed that both of their directors are passionate about working with businesses in the community and would welcome the opportunity to support both MP’s and their working groups where required across all IT sectors including games and esports.

Stuart Muckley

I’ve been a programmer and IT enthusiast for 30 years (since the zx spectrum) and concentrated on AI (neural nets & genetic algorithms) at University. My principle skills are concentrated on Enterprise and Solution Architecture and managing effective developer teams.

I enjoy the mix between technical and business aspects; how technology enables and how that (hopefully) improves profit/EBITDA & reduces cost-per-transaction, the impact upon staff and how to remediate go-live and handover, and risk identification and mitigation. My guiding principle is “Occams Razor” that simplicity is almost always the best option by reducing complexity, time to build, organisational stress and longer term costs.
